Ardara
The Irish distillery of Ardara, owned by Sliabh Liag Distillers and located in Donegal, has announced the release of their second single malt. The Ardara Single Malt 2026 Edition features the distillery’s triple distilled heavily peated spirit, which is peated with local turf in the traditional way. The cask combination features ex-Oloroso sherry casks (63%), ex-bourbon barrels (35.7%), and virgin Americaan oak casks (1.3%).
The Ardara Single Malt 2026 Edition is released at 46% ABV and is both non-chill filtered and of natural colour. A bottle will cost €90. A cask strength version has also been released alongside at 60.9% ABV and €130 per bottle. The exact number of bottles for both were not revealed in the press release.
Glasgow Distillery Co.
The Glasgow distillery has unveiled the latest editions of its annual Glasgow 1770 single malt Scotch whisky series. This sees Batch 2 releases of the Glasgow 1770 Bourbon Cask Matured and Ruby Port Cask Finished. alongside a new version of the Sherry Cask Matured expression. The series is designed to showcase the distillery’s favourite combinations of spirit style and cask maturation.
The Glasgow 1770 Bourbon Cask Matured Batch 2 is bottled at 8 years of age and marries equal proportions of the distillery’s peated and unpeated double distilled single malt. It has been matured exclusively in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels. The Glasgow 1770 Ruby Port Cask Finish Batch 2 saw initial maturation in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels before almost four years finishing in ex-Ruby Port hogsheads. It is 7 years old. Both are released at 54% ABV and are restricted to 1,600 and 1,200 bottles respectively.
The Glasgow 1770 Sherry Cask Matured Batch 1 marries unpeated single malt finished in ex-Pedro Ximénez sherry casks with peated single malt matured in ex-Medium sherry casks. These were sourced from renowned Spanish sherry producer Ximénez-Spínola. It is released at 55% ABV and is limited to 1,600 bottles. All three are non-chill filtered and of natural colour. The trio are available now from selected UK specialist retailers an in several world markets. These include Belgium, Canada, Finland, France, Germany, Switzerland and The Netherlands. All cost £59 per bottle.
Glenallachie
The Speyside distillery of Glenallachie has launched a new whisky into its core domestic range with the release of Glenallachie 21 Years Old Cask Strength Batch 7. Primary maturation was in ex-bourbon barrels followed by an extended secondary maturation in a selection of ex-Pedro Ximénez and ex-Oloroso sherry puncheons and hogsheads sourced from Spain. The whisky was created by Billy Walker, the Master Distiller at Glenallachie.
The Glenallachie 21 Years Old Cask Strength Batch 7 is released at the natural cask strength of 51.9% ABV. It is both non-chill filtered and of natural colour. The whisky is available now at the Glenallachie visitor centre in Speyside and via www.glenallachie.com. Retailers in the UK and other world markets will see stock from late-August. Each bottle will cost £298/ US$405.
The Dalmore
The north Highland distillery of The Dalmore has announced the latest bottling in its Distillery Select Series. The series is designed to offer whisky fans hidden
gems from The Dalmore’s dunnage warehouses. The 2026 bottling is The Dalmore 14 Years Old Semisecco Marsala Finish. The whisky has seen an initial maturation in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels, before a finishing period of one year and nine months in ex-Semisecco Marsala casks from Sicily.
The new release is limited to just 1,100 bottles. These are released at a strength of 53.7% ABV and the whisky is both non-chill filtered and of natural colour. It will be on general global release from August 31, although members of The Dalmore Guild will have the opportunity to purchase in advance. Each bottle will cost £350/ US$475.
