Aberfeldy
The Highland distillery of Aberfeldy has launched a new single malt that will be exclusive to its online store and Perthshire visitor centre. The Aberfeldy 24 Years Old White Port Double Cask is the latest addition to the brand’s Exceptional Cask Series, which explores different wine cask finishes. The whisky has been created by Stephanie Macleod, the Malt Master at Aberfeldy.

The whisky has seen initially maturation in ex-bourbon casks before a lengthy finishing period in ex-White Port barrels sourced from Portugal. it is released at 50.7% ABV and is limited to just 252 bottles. Each will cost £350/ US$465. They will only be available at the distillery visitor centre, where it will also be available for £13 a dram, and via the Aberfeldy website.
Gordon & Macphail
The legendary independent botlting company of Gordon & Macphail have announced a new cask strength single malt. The whisky holds extra significance as it will be the last bottling to feature the Talisker distillery name by the company. The Gordon & MacPhail Connoisseurs Choice Heritage 1987 from Talisker Distillery is a single refill ex-sherry butt and represents the final cask from the Skye distillery in G&M’s portfolio.

The Connoisseurs Choice range has featured more than 2,000 bottlings from almost 100 Scottish distilleries. Gordon & MacPhail is also paying tribute to the original Connoisseurs Choice bottlings with the return of the iconic black label design for this release. The whisky is released at 51.4% ABV, 39 years of age and is limited to just 451 bottles. It is both non-chill filtered and of natural colour. It is available now from selected specialist whisky retailers in the UK and beyond. Each bottle will cost £1,250/ US$1,675.
Isle of Harris
The independent craft distillery Isle of Harris has announced a new addition to its core single malt range. The Isle of Harris Whisky joins The Hearach as permanent expressions and will be launced next week (July 14). The new whisky is a lightly peated single malt matured in ex-bourbon and ex-Oloroso sherry casks. It has been created by Shona Macleod, the Distillery Blender at Isle of Harris.

Isle of Harris Whisky is released at 46% ABV and is both non-chill filtered and of natural colour. It will be available to purchase from the distillery shop from July 14 and then from the isle of harris website from July 22. A wider distribution to world markets including France, Germany, the UK and USA will begin from August. A bottle will cost £50/ US$68.
