London Distillery Co.
The London Distillery Company continues its rebirth with its second release since coming back earlier this year. The Golden Union: Release No. 1 – A Field in England follows hot on the heels of the Renascence: The Revival Release from last month. This sold out in under 24 hours. The Golden Union will be a series.

This second whisky is an English blended malt. It is an artful marriage of malt whiskies produced by both Adnams in Suffolk and The London Distillery Company. The expression is composed of a varied selection of component malts that have been matured in both ex-bourbon hogsheads and barrels. They have been drawn from several different vintages.
The Golden Union: Release No.1 – A Field in England is bottled at 50% ABV and is both non-chill filtered and of natural colour. It will be available in limited quantities from June 30 via www.londondistillery.co.uk and selected specialist whisky retailers. A bottle will cost £49.95.
We have long believed in the potential of English whisky. And with The Golden Union, we are proud to celebrate that belief by launching an ongoing series that puts English malt whisky – in all its diversity – centre stage. There are now over 50 licensed distilleries producing whisky across the country, each contributing their own textures, techniques, and philosophies.

Rock Island
Douglas Laing & Co, the family-owned independent bottlers, have announced the release of a new limited edition of their Rock Island blended malt – the Rock Island 16 Years Old Sherry Edition. As with all bottlings of Rock Island, this whisky features a marriage of single malts from Scotland’s whisky-making islands including Orkney, Arran, Jura, and Islay. These feature a predominant percentage of sherry cask maturation.

The Rock Island 16 Years Old Sherry Edition is bottled at 46.8% ABV and is both non-chill filtered and of natural colour. The packaging features a premium foiled outer carton. It will be available in key markets worldwide from specialist retailers across Europe, the Americas, and Asia. A bottle will cost £75/ €90.
This is a release that we are all incredibly excited about at Douglas Laing. The brand itself showcases a truly unique composition, containing single malts from some of Scotland’s most acclaimed whisky-making islands. To release these in a predominantly ex-sherry-matured expression is a special moment.

Spirit of Yorkshire
The Spirit of Yorkshire distillery has announced a limited edition single cask bottling that will be exclusive to independent whisky retailers in the UK. Filey Bay Single Cask #2018 is a re-fill ex-Oloroso sherry hogshead cask, which has matured in the distillery’s warehouse for seven years. It is bottled at the natural cask strength of 59.2% ABV. There are just 306 bottles available. Each bottle will cost £120.

We are proud of the relationships we have forged with the independent businesses since we launched our first whisky in 2019. We are grateful to them for helping to tell our story of field-to-bottle whisky production to thousands of people. This special single cask release has been selected and bottled to acknowledge these remarkable businesses and the individuals that work in them.
Joe Clark | Whisky Director at Spirit of Yorkshire.
