Isle of Raasay

The Isle of Raasay distillery have announced the third bottling in its Cask Strength series, which showcases the distillery’s unique six-cask maturation but at natural strength. Na Sia (meaning ‘The Six’ in Gaelic) is Raasay’s signature cask recipe where peated and unpeated spirit is matured separately in three distinct cask types: first-fill ex-rye whiskey, virgin Chinkapin oak, and ex-Bordeaux red wine, before being married together to produce their house style.

The Isle of Raasay Cask Strength 2025 Edition follows two previous annual versions, which both sold out quickly, and is bottled at the natural cask strength of 61.6% ABV. It is both non-chill filtered and of natural colour and will be available via the Isle of Raasay website and selected specialist whisky retailers worldwide. There are just 5,500 bottles in the batch and each will cost £65.

Jameson

The best-selling Irish whiskey brand of Jameson has announced an expansion to its travel retail exclusive Triple Triple bottling with the Jameson Triple Triple Chestnut Edition. This follows the success of the original Triple Triple bottling, which is triple distilled and features three different types of cask maturation – ex-bourbon, ex-sherry and ex-Malaga fortified wine casks.

These are ex-bourbon, ex-Oloroso sherry and hand-selected sweet chestnut casks.Unlike its sibling, the Chestnut Edition is not a travel retail exclusive. It will initially be available in selcted world markets including Canada, Ireland, Poland, South Africa, the UK and USA. India and Japan will follow later in the year. The new whisky is bottled at 40% ABV and will cost US$29/ £29 a bottle.

Spirit of Yorkshire

The field-to-bottle Spirit of Yorkshire distillery has announced their latest limited edition English single malt – the Filey Bay Orange Wine Barrique. The new whisky was distilled in 2017 and is bottled at seven years old. It has seen maturation first in ex-bourbon casks (for three years and three months), before being re-racked to ex-orange wine barriques for the remaining time (three years and 10 months). These barriques previously held Vino Naranja del Condado de Huelva, which is exclusively made within a Protected Designation of Origin in southern Spain.
