Glendronach

The Highland distillery of Glendronach has announced the release of a new trio of single malts – Glendronach The Master’s Anthology. The series is designed to showcase the distillery’s use of premium ex-sherry casks, which are sourced from southern Spain, and has been created by Dr. Rachel Barrie – the Master Blender for Glendronach. All three bottlings are non-chill filtered and of natural colour.

The Master’s Anthology kicks off with Glendronach Ode To The Valley and is a celebration of of its home – Glendronach translates as ‘the valley of the brambles’ from local Gaelic. The whisky has been matured in a combination of ex-sherry and ex-Port casks. It is bottled at 46.2% ABV and will cost £67.

Ode To The Embers is a rare peated expression of Glendronach and has been matured in ex-Oloroso and ex-Pedro Ximenez sherry casks. The malted barley has been peated using local Highland peat and is released at 48.4% ABV. A bottle will cost £72. Ode To The Dark is the richest whisky of the trio and has been matured solely in ex-Pedro Ximenez sherry casks. It is bottled at 50.8% ABV and will cost £77. The Glendronach The Master’s Anthology is available now in Germany and the UK, and will get a wider world release in early-2025.
